Galatians - Gospel matters

$9

Homework: Light   |   Length: 7 weeks

The church in Galatia faced a choice between two "gospels" - two ways of approaching a relationship with God, two ways of looking at life. On one side were the teachers who told these young Christians that their performance mattered. To be right with God, they needed to trust Christ... but they also needed their own efforts. On the other side was the church-planting apostle, Paul. He said that the only performance that mattered was Christ's: His life, death and resurrection. Which "gospel" they relied on really mattered. In these studies, Paul will show us how our problems in the Christian life stem from forgetting or failing to live by that gospel.

Esther - Royal rescue

$9

Homework: Light   |   Length: 7 weeks

You'll witness God is absolute sovereignty and faithfulness to all his promises, and see how this story previews the greatest rescue of all - that of Jesus Christ, saving us from sin and judgment. Esther's story of God's royal rescue is most certainly a story for our time too.

Passion - Luke 22-24

$9

Homework: Light   |   Length: 6 weeks

What difference does the cross of Jesus Christ make to the way you live? Christians hold that the death of Christ is the center of human history, because it has changed our eternal lives completely. But it's easy to know this, and yet still be missing something important when we think about the cross. The New Testament teaches that Jesus' death is not only great for the future, when we die; it changes how we live today too. The events of Christ's final day can transform our every day, shaping every detail of our lives, from our marriages to our money, from our suffering to our success. These six studies look at the twenty-four hours before Jesus' death through the eyes of Luke's Gospel. Every aspect of Jesus' final day will change our hearts and challenge our lives. Let his passion stir yours.

David - God's true king

$9

Homework: Light   |   Length: 6 weeks

It's the stuff of legends. An unknown, unlikely-looking kid defiantly takes on the ultimate enemy weapon - an enormous, unconquered super-warrior. He sets out unprotected and alone, yet astonishingly, he slaughters the evil giant - the enemy is routed and David wins a complete victory for his people. It's easy to see why the story of David and Goliath is still so popular. We love David the hero, the shepherd boy who became king of Israel, chosen by God as a man "after God's own heart". But what about David the dispised "worm", the hot-tempered bully, the weak father, the lustful playboy and the coldly calculating murderer? Did God really know what He was doing when He chose David? This Good Book Guide on the life of David reveals the secret of David's success and the reasons for his many failures. But it also uncovers the greater story of a better hero. In just six sessions, you will learn how this weak Israelite king points us to the ultimate king - Jesus. He was dispised like the worm of David's psalm and killed, yet finally won the ultimate victory for His people over sin and death.

Crazy Love - Book & Study Guide

$27

Homework: Moderate   |   Length: 6 weeks

God is love. It's crazy if you think about it. The God of the universe - the Creator of nitrogen and pine needles, galaxies and E-minor - loves us with a radical, unconditional, self-sacrificing love. And what is our typical response? We go to church, sing songs and try not to cuss. Whether you have verbalized it or not, we all know something's wrong. Does something deep inside your heart long to break free from the status quo? Are you hungry for an authentic faith that addresses the problems of our world with tangible, even radical solutions? God is calling you to a passionate love relationship with Himself. Because the answer to religious complacency is not working harder at a list of do's and don'ts - it's falling in love with God. And once you encounter His love, you will never be the same. Because when you're wildly in love with someone, it changes everything!

James - Genuine Faith

$9

Homework: Light   |   Length: 6 weeks

What does real Christianity actually look like? How do I know my faith is real? James wants us to pause and check: what is genuine faith and does my life show evidence of it? After all, real faith is not seen in what we claim, but in how we live. James shows us how genuine Christianity responds to suffering and trials, injustice and illness, conflict with others and temptation within. But more that that, he shows us what our great God is like and how all we do flows from who he is.

Joy - "How to Rejoice in Any Situation"

$11

John 1-12 - Life to the full

$9

Homework: Light   |   Length: 8 weeks

John's Gospel is an invitation to you to find life. John tells us himself what his purpose is in writing: "Jesus performed many "signs." These are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name" (John 20:30-31). This Good Book Guide will show you those "signs" - the acts of Jesus that enable you to believe confidently in who he is. But the key in some ways is not so much the word "believe", but "life". This Gospel shows us how to have "life to the full" (John 10:10) - "fullness of life" or "life abundant" - as followers of the Messiah. These eight studies will not simply give you a deeper understanding of the first twelve chapters of this Gospel, nor a list of practical "to do's" in your life. They will also enable you to encounter more and more deeply Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God. It is as you do so that you will find in him "life" - in all the ramifications that John's Gospel intends.

Elijah - A man just like us

$9

Homework: Light   |   Length: 5 weeks

Through Elijah, God powerfully confronted and exposed Israel's worthless religion. Yet, Elijah was a man just like us. Despite his dramatic story, he was no superhero: he suffered weakness, failure, frustration and anxiety. Not so much a mighty man as a man who served the mighty God. Many Christians today know the same pressures that Elijah experienced - few in number and feeling insignificant, speaking God's truth where it's not welcome. Perhaps, like Elijah, we even feel God has abandoned us. But through God's grace Elijah persevered. His life and ministry revealed God's sovereignty, grace, provision, resurrection power, inescapable justice and his awesome salvation. In these five studies, discover how God can take someone just like us to use for his eternal glory.

Zechariah - God's big plan for struggling Christians

$9

Homework: Light   |   Length: 6 weeks

Christians struggle. We struggle with ridicule and being ignored; with opposition to the message that Jesus is the only way to God; with our own failures and the devil's accusations that make us question whether God accepts us. In Zechariah's day, Israel had returned from exile, but home was certainly not all they had hoped for. Zechariah's task was to bring comforting words to the struggling people of God. This Bible study aims to help followers of Jesus live a life shaped not by "these days", but by "that day" when God's plan comes to glorious fruition.

Soul Songs - Exploring the Psalms

$9

Homework: Light   |   Length: 6 weeks

How often do you get the tune of a mindless song stuck in your head? It's one way that Christians can end up thinking and wanting things just like the world around us. So God has given us a collection of songs that can help us re-tune our hearts to what He thinks and wants instead. You may feel as if your soul is downcast or sick - troubled by worry, sin, suffering, fear or guilt. David, the Israelite king who wrote many of these songs, tells us that the word of God revives the soul - it's powerful stuff! And how to revive your soul is the theme of this selection. Mostly written by people in trouble, these psalms take us away from the problems we face, and turn us back to God, the rock. In these songs you will find medicine for your soul. You will learn to fear God instead of others, to trust Him in difficult times, and to sing a new song to the Lord who saves. This thematic journey through selected psalms will focus on aspects of these Spirit-inspiredisongs that deal with our emotional response to our loving God.

Titus - the good life

$9

Homework: Light   |   Length: 5 weeks

We all want to live the good life. In this letter, Paul gives us a vision of a way of life that is truly good - that touches people in small but decisive ways and that makes an often unseen yet eternally significant difference. The more Christians keep the gospel central, the more they will grow in the good life. And as they live that life, they will "make the teaching about God our Savior attractive" to those around them (Titus 2:10). This life-changing yet little-studied letter will inspire and equip you to do the same.

Mark 9-16 - The Servant King

$8

Homework: Light   |   Length: 7 weeks

Have you ever arranged to meet someone for the first time, only to miss them because you expected someone who looked quite different? But how much more serious would it be to miss God Himself, just because He didnot look as we expected? This is exactly what happens in the second half of Mark's Gospel. Jesus is the King. But He comes to serve and suffer, not to fight political battles. Rejected by religious leaders, deserted by His followers, it seems everyone is missing who He really is. Could we make the same mistake as the people of Jesus' day? This study will help you to know and understand Jesus, just as Mark knew Him - nothing that people expected, but more than any of us could hope for.

Uninvited: Living Loved When You Feel Less Than, Left Out, and Lonely

$21

Women Only

Homework: Moderate   |   Length: Semester

The enemy wants us to feel rejected ... left out, lonely, and less than. When we allow him to speak lies through our rejection, he pickpockets our purpose; cripples our courage; dismantles our dreams; and blinds us to the beauty of Christ's powerful love. In Uninvited, Lysa shares her own deeply personal experiences with rejection from the incredibly painful childhood abandonment by her father to the perceived judgment of the perfectly toned woman one elliptical over. This study will help us overcome the feelings of rejection and not being good enough, and show us how to anchor our identities and worth to our unchanging, unflinching, unyielding, undeniably good, and unquestionably loving God.
