Galatians – Gospel Matters

Mixed - Open to men and women

Homework: Light   |   Length: 7 Weeks

The church in Galatia faced a choice between two "gospels" - two ways of approaching a relationship with God, two ways of looking at life. On one side were the teachers who told these young Christians that their performance mattered. To be right with God, they needed to trust Christ... but they also needed their own efforts. On the other side was the church-planting apostle, Paul. He said that the only performance that mattered was Christ's: His life, death and resurrection. Which "gospel" they relied on really mattered. In these studies, Paul will show us how our problems in the Christian life stem from forgetting or failing to live by that gospel.

Judges – “The Flawed And The Flawless”

Homework: Light   |   Length: 6 Weeks

The book of Judges shows us that the Bible is not a series of nice stories - it is a book of unvarnished history. It is about real people. And it is about the real God. Judges shows us a God who is relentlessly loving to unlovely people; who continually rescues people from the consequences of their own failings and flaws; and who points forward to the flawless Leader andisavior who he will one day send.

Hebrews – Consider Jesus

Homework: Light   |   Length: 9 Weeks

Jesus Christ is at the center of the Bible's message and God's plan for the universe - and at the center of human history. But is He at the center of our hopes, priorities and day-to-day lives? We need to move on from simply knowing the details of His birth, life and death to a deeper understanding of their meaning. This letter to the Hebrews helps us leave behind our limited views of Jesus by explaining to us the supreme greatness of Christ himself. Use these studies to discover the whole picture of Jesus Christ and equip yourself to know, trust and follow Him, come what may.

Break free from the destructive power of guilt, anger, greed, and jealousy, divorce, Job loss, estrangement from family members and broken friendships. The difficult circumstances you are dealing with today are likely being fed by one of four emotional forces that compels you to act in undesirable ways, sometimes even against your will. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality

Homework: None   |   Length: 10 Weeks

If the Christian faith is supposed to produce deep, positive change, why is it that so many Christians are not experiencing it? Even those who are actively involved and committed to serving God and His church seem to be running on empty and are less than satisfied with the end result of their spiritual effort. The truth is, many of us are putting all of our energies into the passionate pursuit of spiritual practices while we are ignoring the emotional component of our lives. Emotional health and spiritual maturity cannot be separated. It is impossible to be spiritually mature while remaining emotionally immature. This study will show you how to transform the emotional aspect of who you are so you can escape the lifelessness of hollow spirituality and become a more authentic and loving human being towards God, others and yourself. You can experience a genuine hunger for God that leaves you filled up and overflowing instead of burnt out and exhausted.

1 Thessalonians – Living to please God

When a small group of ordinary first-century people first believed in Jesus Christ, they changed dramatically that soon many others across the Roman world were imitating their faith, hope and love. Little did they know it, but theirs was a transformation that would change lives, cultures and destinies. That's because the apostle Paul, thrilled to see their vibrant Christian lives, recorded his delight in a warm, encouraging letter, packed with advice and help to keep going. And as we read that first letter to the Thessalonians, we can learn that our ordinary lives can be transformed into the same vibrant faith, overflowing love and sensational hope.

Patience – “The Benefit Of Waiting”

Homework: Light   |   Length: 6 Weeks

"Lord, I want patience, and I want it right now!" It is easier to joke about patience than to become patient. You can tell God is growing patience in you when you run into frustrating experiences; when others fail to meet your expectations; when people you depend on let you down. Most of all, you know you are learning patience when you call out to the Lord for help and He seems to be on vacation. In the face of such trials, the Bible tells us that patience is worth the wait. This study is designed to help you discover the benefits of waiting.

The journey to emotional health begins by quitting … and this study will help you discover eight things every woman should quit for her own emotional health. Quit being afraid of what others think. Quit lying. Quit denying your anger and sadness. Quit living someone else’s life. When you quit these things that are damaging to your soul or the souls of others, you are freed up to choose other ways of being and relating that are rooted in love and lead to life.

Before Amen: The Power of Simple Prayer

Homework: Light   |   Length: 9 Weeks

We all pray . . . some. But wouldn't we like to pray more? Better? Stronger? We aren't the first to struggle with prayer. The first followers of Jesus needed prayer guidance too. In fact, prayer is the only tutorial they ever requested. And Jesus gave them a prayer. This study reminds us that prayer is not a privilege for the pious nor the art of a chosen few. Prayer is simply a heartfelt conversation between God and his child. Let the conversation begin.

Ruth – Poverty and plenty

Homework: Light   |   Length: 4 Weeks

What's so special about the story of Ruth? This woman from ancient times was no powerful princess - just a young, vulnerable widow, an impoverished outcast. The story records no famous events or places - just a struggling family facing hard times in a small, agricultural community occupied with their livelihoods and customs. But the hidden hand of God is at work in the lives of these ordinary people, and wonderfully at work in history. God transforms hardship from bitterness to joy; God is word liberates people to become a community filled with loving kindness towards outsiders; God is people reach out to their enemies. And most significantly, God's great plan, to send a promised saviour King to redeem people of all notions, is being worked out. Like those in the story, we may be just ordinary people, unable to see how the events of our lives will turn out. But by encountering the God who works through the circumstances of life, we too can discover the God who can turn our 'poverty' into 'plenty' through Jesus Christ.

RECOVERY – I’d Like You More if You Were More like Me

Mixed - Open to men and women

Homework: Moderate   |   Length: Semester

We were created for deep connections, but we often allow our differences to disconnect us from one another. It’s so easy to settle for shallow relationships, just enough to get by. But, it doesn’t have to be this way. We can learn to relate more meaningfully because connectedness is not based on similarity, but on shared experiences. When one person invites another to share an experience, they’re connected. It can be simple things like sharing a beautiful sunset or a meal, having a great conversation over cup of coffee, or going for walk. And when we share those same experiences with God, we get closer to him, too. An intimate relationship with God and other people doesn’t have to be a cliché, it can be a daily way of life … if we choose to pursue it.
